What to ask for
Anything that makes the world bigger without needing the story to change. The world runs at 0.38g under a grid called the Open Eye and it has been running for two hundred years, so it has had time to grow the small things a place grows. Most of them are not written down yet.
Good requests are specific. A sport gives me almost nothing to work with. A sport played down a ninety metre shaft with a weighted ball gives me a whole afternoon. Same with a job. A trade is nothing. The person who walks the buoy line after a storm and files what is missing is a character already. The more exact you are the easier it is to build, and the closer it lands to the thing you had in your head.
You do not need to know where it fits. That part is my problem.
What happens to it
I read all of them. I pick the ones that fit the world as it already stands, and then I write them, which means the ones I take get built properly instead of getting a line in a list somewhere. A request might land as a codex section on The Loom, or as a place on The Atlas, or inside a story where somebody uses it and never explains it.
If yours is going somewhere I will come back and ask you about it, because the person who thought of the thing usually knows more about it than they wrote down. Some of them turn into a whole story. That has already happened more than once.
There is no queue and no date and I am not going to pretend there is one. I take what I can write and I leave the rest, and nothing gets a promise it cannot keep.
What this is not
It is not a submission box. I am not looking for finished stories set in Aura-36 and I am not going to publish somebody else's chapters here. One person writes everything on this site and that stays true.
What I want is the idea. The thing you noticed was missing. I will do the writing.
Where to send it
The Off-World Deck. It is a Discord server and it is the only place on or off this site where anyone can talk to me, because a comment box on a small site means one person reading the worst of it at three in the morning.
Post in the requests channel, or say it in general and I will find it.
